About this view

The same-day report

Each historical row uses the PJM RTO report whose execution date matches its target forecast date. This keeps the daily reporting basis consistent across time. PJM's subregions are already included in its RTO total.

Reading generation availability

These figures describe generation capacity PJM reports as out of service. They are daily report observations, with planned, maintenance and forced MW kept separate. PJM's published total is shown alongside its categories.

Comparable history

The comparison uses average daily forced-outage MW in two adjacent 30-day windows. Both windows must have all 30 same-day forced-outage readings. Report dates are calendar labels and retain PJM's published date.

Questions

Are these customer power outages?

This view measures unavailable generation capacity in MW. The separate PJM power-outage view reports customer meters without service.

Why use same-day reports?

PJM publishes multiple target dates in each report. Matching report and target dates creates a consistent history without mixing advance outlooks with same-day readings.

What happens when a report is missing?

The daily table shows the missing reading and the period's coverage count. A 30-day comparison appears when every forced-outage reading in both windows is available.
