Why it matters
PJM is where queue reform and surging data-center load meet: the largest US market by demand is also the one whose interconnection backlog draws the most scrutiny. Reading the queue by county and technology shows where new capacity is actually trying to connect while that load growth materializes.

Is requested MW the same as operating capacity?+
No. Queue capacity is the amount a project has requested to interconnect. It is not installed, operating, or likely-to-complete capacity, and it does not establish available transmission headroom at the named point of interconnection.
Where does this data come from?+
PJM's official new services queue publication. Ask the Grid mirrors each release and stamps when the operator published it, so every row is attributable to a specific PJM publication.
How precise is the project location shown?+
The public queue does not publish exact project geometry, so projects are joined to counties and map interactions are placed at county level. A named substation or transmission owner is location evidence, not a feasibility measurement.
