A federal power provider and balancing authority

TVA supplies electricity through local power companies and direct customers across the Tennessee Valley. It operates a balancing area within the Eastern Interconnection, combining nuclear, hydro, fossil generation and purchased power. Its territory spans Tennessee and portions of six neighbouring states.

Demand and generation by fuel come from EIA-930 hourly reports. TVA's reservoir publications carry hourly observations, daily forecasts and generation release schedules. NRC reactor reports describe daily rated reactor power percentages; OASIS postings describe transmission outage intervals and the current generator queue. Every desk preserves its source's units, clock and publication status.
