What this View shows
The transmission-line and substation features in the HIFLD public inventory, placed beside ERCOT's zones on Ask the Grid's interactive map, with the same layers available in the live ERCOT workspace.
How to use it
Texas's transmission story is distance: wind and solar in West Texas, load in the Houston, Dallas–Fort Worth, Austin, and San Antonio metros, and the corridors between them. Read the public line and substation geography against the zones to see where a site sits in that picture, then use ERCOT planning studies and transmission-owner records for ratings, constraints, and available capability.
