What does this map show?
The transmission lines and substations published in the HIFLD public inventory, drawn across ERCOT's zones. It is geographic reference data — the operational network model, line ratings, and real-time flows stay with ERCOT and the transmission service providers.
Does this cover all of Texas?
The map is framed on the ERCOT grid. Parts of Texas — the far west around El Paso, much of the Panhandle, and parts of East and Northeast Texas — are served by other grids, and the public inventory there belongs to those systems rather than to ERCOT.
Can I tell from the map where a project can interconnect?
It shows where the public network geography runs, which is the starting point. Whether a specific point of interconnection works is settled by ERCOT's generation interconnection process and the transmission service provider.
